Do I need an AIO for a 9800X3D or is my air cooler fine?

Question

picking up a 9800X3D this week to drop into my current board. thing is i already run a Deepcool Assassin IV, big dual tower air cooler, and it does fine on my current chip. half the advice i read swears these X3D chips want an AIO or theyll cook themselves, the other half says a good air tower is plenty. do i actually have to switch to liquid or does the Assassin IV just carry over

the 9800X3D is single CCD and doesn't pull much power, so a solid dual tower is plenty. the Assassin IV carries right over, don't buy anything. an AIO just gets you slightly lower temps and a quieter fan curve. it's the dual CCD 9950X3D where that talk actually matters, that one runs hot

From what I read the Assassin IV handles that chip fine. I run a Liquid Freezer III Pro 360, the quiet curve is lovely, but it's overkill for a single-CCD 9800X3D. How's your airflow?

Running a Pure Rock Pro 3 on AM5 here (air) and temps have been a non-issue. The X3D parts don't dump heat like a flagship Intel does
