why is my ddr5 6000 kit still running slow with expo on

Question

Picked up a 6000 kit for my Tomahawk Max and turned on EXPO in the BIOS like every guide says. Problem is my monitoring tools still show it running way under 6000. I rebooted twice and the profile definitely shows as enabled in there. Dont get what I'm doing wrong here. Is the board just broken or is there some step everyone leaves out

Same board here (tomahawk max) and usually this is the kit not on the QVL. EXPO is a promise from the RAM vendor, not a guarantee it trains at rated speed. Check your kit against the QVL, update the BIOS since memory compat improves across releases, and if 6000 won't train keep the profile on but step it to 5600 or 5200

honestly this is probably just the memory controller LOTTERY. some chips won't do 6000 no matter what board you have
