Is it smarter to buy RAM now or hold out for prices to settle?

Back in April I picked up an ADATA XPG Lancer Blade kit, 32GB at 6000 CL36, for my main rig and the price already stung a little then. Now I'm putting together a second machine for the home office and the memory is the one line item I keep stalling on. Everything else I can spec without flinching. Right now 32GB kits seem to sit around $389 as of June from what I'm seeing. Does anyone actually see a reason to expect relief this year, or is holding out just losing slowly?

Best I can tell, the capacity that could ease this doesn't reach volume until 2027, SK Hynix's M15X mid-2027 and Samsung's P5 not until 2028. So nothing credible points at relief this year, and Lenovo is calling it the new normal through 2030. The rule that holds up is probably buy now if the machine has to exist now, and don't gamble on a dip if it doesn't.

usually i wait for the price to drop. did that for months and every dip i waited on just went up instead
