Does my Crucial warranty still mean anything now that Micron is dropping the brand?

Picked up a P310 2TB late last year and it has been solid, no complaints. Then I read that Micron is winding down the whole Crucial consumer side, retail sales gone worldwide around february.

So where does that leave the warranty on a drive I already own. Is it still actually honored if the drive dies in two years, or is it one of those promises that quietly stops mattering once the brand is gone? Not trying to panic, just genuinely not sure how worried I should be

Micron's own statement is that warranty service continues for existing Crucial drives through the transition. What ends around february is retail and distribution, not coverage on drives already sold. So your P310 is still under warranty. Keep the receipt and order confirmation somewhere safe, and if it ever fails, file the claim promptly.

Honestly I had a P310 in my cart last month and bailed as usual, for once my indecision actually saved me some stress.
