Bought a DRAM-less NVMe drive, is it actually fine as a boot drive?

Picked up a Lexar NM790 2TB back in 2025 and it has been my boot and main gaming drive ever since. Zero complaints, boots quick, games load like anything else I have owned.

Then I got reading some older writeups that basically said DRAM-less drives were a hard no, avoid full stop, especially for a boot drive. Now I am second-guessing a drive that has given me no reason to. Does that old rule still actually hold in 2026, or has it aged out?
